Rev. Texie Mckinney III accepted his call to ministry at a young age in 1998 holding tight to one of his favorite scriptures that has aided in his spiritual growth: “The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom should I be afraid?”(Psalms 27: 1-2) Maintaining his grip to the unchanging hand of God, Rev. Mckinney excelled in both his undergraduate and graduate studies, affording him the opportunity to gain several degrees within education and health care. Nevertheless, maintaining a spiritual covering via consistent ministerial activity in his home church, True Vine M.B. Church, continued to be at the forefront of his mind all while holding on to spiritual values instilled at a tender age, Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (NKJV)

God has continued to be a blessing to Rev. Mckinney through utilizing him as vessel for His glory. Rev. Mckinney has played prominent roles in Salem Baptist District Association of Chicago and Baptist General State Convention of Illinois through serving as a youth worker and instructor. He has been instrumental in educational endeavors that of which have included Sunday school instructor and Summer/After School Director. Rev. Mckinney also served as Assistant Pastor of True Vine M. B. Church under the leadership of Pastor William Martin until his move to another endeavor at which time Rev. Mckinney was elected pastor in 2018. Rev Mckinney continues his growth in the ministry via walking by faith and not by sight which has been a motto that has inspired him to continue on this ministerial journey knowing that, per (Philipians 4:13), “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (NKJV)
